An update on a story we first brought you last week, as a 17-year-old Claremont girl reported missing by her mother has since been found according to police. Claremont police told the Eagle Times Wednesday that Carrie Holland was located Feb. 27 and returned to her family five days after having been reported missing. Police did not release further information on the case due to Holland’s age.
Holland was initially reported missing by her mother Feb. 22 and was believed to be within Claremont or Newport. It was not immediately known where the girl was located.
Posts on social media sites like Facebook in regards to the case garnered hundreds of comments and shares, though most have since been removed.
Besides local departments, the State of New Hampshire’s Investigative Services Bureau often assists in missing person cases.
