In Brattleboro, one of the town’s businesses will be undergoing renovations that will bring in a large amount of jobs to the area. GS Precision Incorporated has just started a new $17 million renovation project that is projected to bring in around 100 jobs over the course of the next few years.
A groundbreaking ceremony, attended by Governor Peter Shumlin, Congressman Peter Welch, and Senator Patrick Leahy was held on Monday, marking the beginning of the new expansion project.
GS Precision is the area’s largest precision machine shop and is the largest source of jobs in the region as well. The company produces high grade components for both commercial and military aircraft engines, power generation, and other components in other industries like medical and automotive.
GS Precision had been debating moving across the river into New Hampshire since earlier this year where they would seek a larger facility, but has ultimately decided against it.
