A similar story involving wild rides through Claremont: the 55-year-old Hancock, New York man who crashed his Jeep into the historic Moody Building last week was arraigned yesterday in Claremont District Court.
Police charged Patrick Taylor with one felony count of reckless conduct resulting from the early afternoon incident last Thursday, in which he sped his vehicle down Pleasant Street before traveling straight through Opera House Square and into the Moody Building.
Taylor’s black 2007 Jeep struck one other vehicle while in the rotary, but no injuries were reported at the scene. An eyewitness to the accident told YCN News the driver fled the vehicle on foot, but was quickly apprehended by officers.
Taylor’s bail was set at $25,000 dollars with several unknown special conditions, and he is scheduled to appear back in Claremont District Court Dec. 31 for a probable-cause hearing.
