Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of WRJ Courthouse

Well it was a scary scene Friday morning over in White River Junction Vermont as a bomb threat was called in to the Windsor District Courthouse against the Department of Children and Families.

The White River Junction courthouse and a neighboring state office building were both evacuated of all workers and visitors around 11 AM as a precaution.

Vermont State Police’s Bomb Squad from Royalton Vermont swept the building as well as other town offices in the area and determined the buildings were clear with no evident threat.

Courthouse employees were allowed to re-enter the building around 1 PM.

However, many area residents arrived at the Windsor District Courthouse courthouse this afternoon to find the front doors locked, with notes posted on the inside saying that the building is remaining closed for the rest of the day.
