A Westminster, Vermont man is facing several charges after he became violent with police officers Thursday during a confrontation at a Bellows Falls restaurant.
According to a press release, 32-year-old Charles Noss refused to leave the Flat Iron Exchange restaurant in the Bellows Falls square when asked to do so by employees. When officers arrived, Noss became violent, even striking the officers several times.
The man was eventually subdued with the help of restaurant patrons and the two responding officers, and was arrested on charges of unlawful trespassing, resisting arrest and aggravated assault against a police office. Police did not say what sparked the altercation, but did acknowledge alcohol may have been a factor.
Noss is currently being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield for lack of $10,000-dollars cash bail. He will be arraigned at the Windham County Courthouse later this month.
