Owner of Common Man Wins Prestigious Award

A story of celebration and achievement as the owner of the Common Man family of restaurants has received a very prestigious award. Alex Ray, who owns the Common Man restaurant here in Claremont as well as a chain of the eateries centered along I-93, received the Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this month.

Ray accepted the award at the New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association’s annual Hospitality Expo and Stars of the Industry Awards Dinner for not only the success of his business over the years but for his philanthropy efforts as well, including combatting substance abuse. Other awards included Innkeeper of the Year and Educator of the Year.

Alex Ray started the Common Man family of restaurants in 1971 and has since expanded the line significantly while hiring around 1000 Granite Staters as employees.
