So there may not be any snow on the ground, maybe a little frost here and there, but that won’t stop Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury. They will be open for skiing and riding this Friday, as they’ve started to make snow since Monday.
The mountain will be providing advanced and expert top to bottom skiing and riding only on the Upper and Lower Blastoff Trail and will be running the Sunapee Express High Speed Quad Chair to the summit.
Now with temperatures in the teens and twenties as of late, Mount Sunapee Resort began their snow-making operations yesterday. Over 100 snow guns blasted snow this morning on the Upper and Lower Blast Off trails, Sky Way Ledges, and the Westside ski trails as the Resort gets ready for opening day.
Okemo, which is Mount Sunapee’s sister mountain over in Ludlow VT, opened today. With both mountains offering up some snow already, it’s a good way to try out that new equipment from this past weekend’s ski swap!
