Solar energy is the fastest growing source of energy in the country and Vermont is taking huge steps towards this. Vermont’s latest project is in Hartford Vermont where officials held a public hearing Monday night to garner input from residents on the latest solar project in the town.
The Valley News reports that a small number of residents showed up and to date, Hartford officials have heard very little complaints about solar in their town.
The solar site is was proposed in August by Green Mountain Power and would be located on a 47-acre spot of land near the iconic Quechee Gorge.
The land parcel has been used as a sandpit since the 1960s and Green Mountain Power intends to convert the land to better fit their use of a solar farm. The project is slated to be finished by fall of next year.
