Hanover Field Hockey Wins Close Match Over Plymouth
The Hanover field hockey team traveled to Plymouth Tuesday to take on a struggling Bobcats squad.
The Marauders headed into the contest with fresh memories of a 1-0 loss to Kennett just four days earlier, but showed no carry over yesterday despite less than ideal conditions and a hostile environment.
Instead, it was Hanover who broke the ice with the game’s first goal midway through the first half when Julie Montgomery scored off a penalty corner to put the visiting team ahead 1-0.
The Marauders added to the lead early in the second half after a breakaway by Izzy Davis and a nice feed to Molly Seibel ended with Grace Golder adding her team’s second and final goal of the contest.
Sophie Cardenali played well in net for 4-and-5 Hanover, finishing with nine saves.
The Marauders will try and win their second straight game Friday when they welcome Goffstown to town.
