Claremont Motorists Can Expect Delays with Construction
Motorists in Claremont may face some heavy delays over the next six to eight week, with major construction set to begin in the city on Monday.
According to the Claremont Department of Public Works, construction is slated to begin around 7 a.m. the morning of September 21, with work to be done on Elm Street, and North and Dunning Streets. Work will eventually spread throughout the city, with Hanover Street, First Street, Second Street and a handful of other roadways set to receive a face lift.
Crews will then take the winter off, before resuming work in the spring on Pearl Street and Walnut Street.
The Claremont City Council approved 1.5 million dollars of funding through a 15-year bond, and Department of Public Works Director Scott Sweet told the Eagle Times he’s confident that amount will cover the entire project.
