Dartmouth College Professor Arrested for Child Pornography

A Dartmouth College English professor was arrested late last week, accused of possessing child pornography.

49-year-old J. Martin Favor was arraigned at the Claremont District Court on Friday, where he was released on $10,000 bail. Favor didn’t enter a plea on behalf of five complaints brought on after an investigation by federal officials.

According to court documents, Favor is accused of possessing five videos at his home showing child sex abuse. Favor has worked at Dartmouth College for 22 years, and was a former chair of the African-American studies department.

He is scheduled to appear at a probable cause hearing this coming Monday.
