New London Hospital has an ongoing capital Campaign to raise 2. 2 million dollars to help with the cost the new health center and once the new building is completed the old Newport Health Center building will be taken down.

Just some background, New London Hospital began offering health service to the Newport area community in 1991 after Newport Hospital closed. A ceremonial groundbreaking for the new building will take place on October 13 at 4pm.
