Claremont Business Takes Advantage of New Tax Relief Program

One local business on Pleasant Street is moving its base of operations to Water Street, in an effort by the town to rehabilitate empty storefronts. At Wednesday night’s Claremont City Council meeting, a tax relief program was approved in the form of the Community Revitalization Tax Relief Program.

The owners of the Ink Factory, Jeff and Sarah Barrette were the first to apply to this new program and are moving their print t-shirt and embroidery store to a building at 13 Water Street. Reporter Kurt Wehde caught up with Jeff Barrette earlier today and asked him if he was at last night’s council meeting and if he thinks his business’s move will inspire other business owners to do the same.

Jeff went on to say that they plan to make the move by the 4th of July, and will have drawn architectural plans by wintertime.
