Newport’s State Champion Golf Team Prepares to Defend Title

As we continue bringing you previews of our local high-school teams preparing for their upcoming seasons, we thought we’d check on the defending Division IV golf champions from Newport. Tuesday we caught up with Tigers coach Vince Molesky during practice, and asked if expectations were equally as high for this year’s team.

The Tigers will open their regular-season schedule Sept. 10 at a 3-team meet in Franklin.
