Welcome to the Yankee Chronicle. For the next two weeks, our show is presented by New London Hospital that now serves 15 communities within the Kearsarge/Lake Sunapee region. I’m your host Abby Peel. The 2026 Hospital Days begins the 30th thru the 1st! You won’t want to miss all your old favorites as New London Hospital celebrates its 100th edition. On today’s show, I’ll talk with CEO Lauren Geddes Wirth about the impact that Hospital Days has on funding impactful programs there and the state of our beloved hospital. Howard Brown from the Center for the Arts will give us a rundown of upcoming arts activities in our region including some Sunapee Harbor favorites. We will meet one of the crafts people showing at this year’s New Hampshire League Craftsmen’s Fair. We’ll get a sample from the 4th of July Celebration in downtown Newport. And I’ll close with the Chair of this year’s Hospital Day’s Parade chair, Katie Paine of Bar Harbor Bank and learn how they will highlight “A Century of Celebration!”
