Newport Man Sentenced to Prison for Possession of Child Porn

A man from Newport has been sentenced to prison for possession of child pornography. 49-year old Allen Langlois was sentenced in the United States District Court of New Hampshire this week. He was handed a prison sentence of 42 months and will be under 10 years of supervised release at the end of his sentence.

Last year in the fall, the FBI conducted a lengthy investigation into Langlois and found that he had hundreds of still images of child pornography on his personal computer within his Newport residence. He admitted to authorities that he downloaded the images from various sources on the internet and he later pleaded guilty in March of this year.

Police from Newport, Manchester, Nashua, and NH State Police all assisted the FBI in the investigation and arrest of Langlois last year.
