Grantham Man Arrested After Chase With Police

It was a wild scene in Lebanon early Saturday morning as a 20-year-old Grantham man was arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle into a School Street home while attempting to flee police.

According to Lebanon police, officers observed a 2013 Chevrolet 1-ton dump truck passing another vehicle over a double yellow line. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped off, prompting what proved to be a brief chase.

Officers observed the vehicle round a corner at a high rate of speed, and roll onto its side before crashing into a home at 104 School Street. The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Gabriel Blanche of Grantham, was transported to nearby Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

He was then released into the custody of police on charges of receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, reckless conduct and driving under the influence.

Blanche was held at the Grafton County House of Corrections on $100,000 dollars bail.
