A Bellows Falls woman was arrested on multiple charges Saturday after a months-long investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs in the area.
According to Bellows Falls Police, 53-year-old Elizabeth McAllister was arrested at her Front Street residence without incident Saturday after a search warrant uncovered multiple drugs which appeared set for distribution.
Among other drugs, authorities discovered heroin, oxycodone, oxycontin, amphetamines, methadone, mushrooms and more than two ounces of marijuana during their search, resulting in a lengthy list of charges.
According to police, a large amount of the prescription pills found were illegally packaged for re-sale.
Police say they began investigating McAllister over the summer to combat a growing drug problem in the Bellows Falls area, and that additional arrests could be made in the coming days.
McAllister is slated to be arraigned in Windham County Superior Court later this week.
