Kasich Campaigns in Claremont & New London

As we continue to inch closer to February’s first-in-the-nation primary, presidential hopefuls are stepping up their efforts to gain support here in the Granite State.

Ohio Governor John Kasich took to the Upper Valley to do just that this weekend, making stops in both Claremont and New London in an effort to convince voters he’s the most viable Republican to face off against Democrats in the general election.

But according to recent statistics from Public Policy Polling released last week, Kasich currently ranks sixth among Republican candidates in New Hampshire at just 8 percent.

In Comparison, front-runner Donald Trump leads the way at 27 percent. Nationally, Kasich is even further behind the curve as he ranks ninth among right-wing candidates according to the Huffington Post.

Kasich spoke at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center to some 60 residents, and was introduced by mayor-elect Charlene Lovett. From there, the Ohio Governor traveled East to speak at a town-hall meeting at Colby-Sawyer College.
