The Claremont soup kitchen is holding an open house to meet the community and welcome their newest new financial director.
The event is being held on Monday November 30th at 6:30 PM and the public is invited to attend to learn about the non-profit and to meet Cindy Stevens, who was brought on board as the new financial director.
This open house event comes after controversy plagued the soup kitchen earlier this year, with the firing of director and founder Jan Bunnell and the unexpected resignation of vice president Bruce Howard after a closed door meeting in September.
The soup kitchen continues to serve its purpose of providing hot meals to those in need and even offers free health clinics two nights out of every month. As a new initiative, they are beginning bingo in December to engage more of the community.
The Kitchen is open weekdays from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at their Central Street location and is open to any resident of Sullivan County.
