In the case of the Croydon School Board fighting back against the state’s Attorney General’s Office, the School Board now has a new ally. The Croydon Select Board has stepped in and is backing the School Board in the ongoing stalemate that may lead to a lengthy court battle.
The announcement was made at Tuesday night’s School Board meeting, which followed the Select Board meeting. With sights set on a court battle, the town has raised over $20,000 from 36 people over the span of a month, all behind the cause of supporting school choice.
Last week, the Attorney General’s office filed an injunction against the School Board for using public tax money to fund the tuition of some of the town’s students going to private school to which Croydon used their lawyer to file an objection.
