Windsor Welcoming Friendly Face as New Fire Chief

The town of Windsor will have a familiar face as its next fire chief with the announcement that part-time firefighter and EMT Kevin McAllister will be talking over the reigns. Windsor Town Manager Tom Marsh announced the hiring during Tuesday night’s selectboard meeting, saying McAllister will begin his new role October 1.

The 51-year-old also works full time as a lieutenant on the West Hartford, Conn. Fire Department, but will resign from that role before the end of the month.

McAllister has worked within the Windsor Fire Department since 2005, where he began as an EMT before eventually earning the ranks of assistant fire chief.

McAllister will be replacing outgoing fire chief Mark Kirko, who announced earlier this summer he had accepted a position in Washington as a deputy fire chief. Kirko began working in Windsor in 2009.
