Soo-Nippi Quilters Guild Prepares for Exhibit at Library Arts Center in Newport

The Soo-Nippi Quilters Guild was busy at the Library Arts Center in Newport Wednesday morning as they began to hang quilts for their upcoming exhibit at the art center. Fifty three quilts will be on display ranging in size from small 24 by 30 inch quilts to large quilts over 72 inches long. This year, members of the guild who accepted the challenge designed and made quilts for the show using only two colors.

The Soo-Nippi Guild was formed in 1982 and has an exhibit at the Library Arts Center every two years. T

his year the the quilt show’s opening reception is being held Friday September 25 from 5 – 7 pm. The show at the Library Arts Center in Newport will be open Tuesdays through Friday 11am – 4pm and open on Saturdays 10am – 2pm through October 22.

The Soo-Nippi Quilters Guild has about 80 members and meets the third Thursday of every month at Sugar River Bank.
