Brown’s House in Plainfield Being Auctioned for Second Time
A home in Plainfield New Hampshire is being auctioned off but it’s not just a regular house. The home belongs to Ed and Elaine Brown, who evaded federal income taxes and entered a standoff with authorities that ended without incidence in 2007.
The fortress-like Plainfield home, on Center of Town Road, is up for auction a second time, having no bidders the first time on the 100-acre home, which is allegedly surrounded by improvised explosives in the forest. T
he first auction took place in November of 2014 and no bidders were allowed on the property because of the rumored explosive devices. The Brown’s second property, Elaine’s dental practice in Lebanon, sits empty and unused today. Federal authorities are orchestrating the auction, with a division of the IRS in charge.
Both Ed and Elaine Brown are currently serving 30 year prison terms.
