Windsor Vermont has been a hotbed for debate about the proposed 19,000 panel solar site that would be the biggest in the state. At Tuesday night’s selectboard meeting in Windsor, the board told residents who attended that they will not take a position in the solar site, neither supporting nor opposing the project.
Last week, Green Mountain Power announced that the project is on hold for now as they work out the details of the site’s management.
Just some background, the site would be positioned on state land located behind the Southeast State Correctional Facility and at a public forum in August, residents outwardly opposed the site. They spoke against the site, claiming it would endanger birds in the area and be an eyesore.
