Movie theater chain Regal Cinemas announced yesterday that it would begin checking the bags of theatergoers in response to recent theater violence across the nation. Regal owns more than 560 theaters across the U.S., though the closest to our region is down Interstate-89 in Concord.
We wondered if this change in operating policy would affect theaters in our region so we headed over to the Claremont Cinema on Washington Street. We spoke with Heather Wothers who is the General Manager there and asked her for her personal take on the matter and if their theater has any measure in place similar to Regal’s new policy.
Movie theaters around the country, whether independent or part of a chain, each have their own operating policies.
