Vandals Disturb Pumpkin People Display in New London
The Annual Pumpkin People contest is underway with local businesses and homes in New London as of October 1st. The New London Recreation Department has put on the contest until the 22nd when judging will take place to pick the best display.
But sometime during the nighttime hours last night vandalism took place of one of the structures outside of 259 Main Street, the office of Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty and New London Insurance Agency. According to Taylor Knapp, who works for the insurance agency, they employees of both offices have spent the last couple of weeks putting together a minion display of pumpkins including a minion car. When the office opened earlier this morning, they noticed one of the minion pumpkins had been taken and the car had been tampered with.
Knapp said, “it’s such a disappointment someone would do this to such a fun contest in town and hurt our hard work and display. We hope someone will come forward with information, or the pumpkin that is missing, no questions asked.”
