Crew of USS Kearsarge Visits Namesake Mountain in 3 Day Trip

Every year, a group of Master Chiefs and a group of candidates from the USS Kearsarge travel to Warner, New Hampshire to ascend their namesake mountain. The community comes together for every visit to show their hospitality and welcome the servicemen and women. YCN covered the first of their three days in the region.

The Master Chiefs not only take in the sights and sounds of the area, but also help groom the mountain to make it better for other visitors. On their final night, the MV Kearsarge dinner boat invited the Master Chiefs and their American Legion hosts for a departing meal. Food on the mountain was provided by Northeast Catholic College. The Lake Sunapee Region will once again extend its notable hospitality next year when the crew visits again.
