In education news, one of our local colleges has launched its first graduate program. Students wanting to pursue nursing at Colby-Sawyer College are now in luck as this fall, the school is expanding its nursing education options and offering a graduate program for a Master Science of Nursing (M.S.N.) .
The college sought the assistance of Dartmouth-Hitchcock, its longtime partner, in creating the 37-credit program which will meet the demand for higher education of the advanced generalist nurse.
Upon completion, program graduates will be eligible to sit for the Clinical Nurse Leader certification exam. The program was co-designed by nursing leaders from the college and Dartmouth-Hitchcock and this fall, will enroll 12 part-time students from D-H to meet the demand for the new role of the Clinical Nurse Leader.
Colby-Sawyer’s nursing program is one of the state’s top performing undergraduate nursing programs and boasts an official examination pass rate of 96% compared to the state and national averages of 89.5% and 84%. The college is currently accepting applications for the new program as well as all others.
