In Claremont, the Stevens Cardinals baseball team hosted the undefeated Monadnock Huskies Wednesday night. Let’s take a look at the game to see if the Cardinals were able to take down hard hitting Huskies.
So far the huskies, sitting at 4 and 0, have crushed their competition outscoring opponents 39 to 6 on the year. Dominant starting pitcher River Fish took the mound for Monadnock and kept the Cardinals bats off balance.
Stevens who by no means is a poor team, looked overmatched as Fish’s reputation as an excellent pitcher with advanced off speed pitches stayed with him. He would allow zero runs over 7 strong innings en route to a 10 to 0 win over Stevens. Both Monadnock and Steven’s head coach spoke with YCN after the game.
Even though Stevens wasn’t able to put up runs, they held their heads high as they knew they faced a tough opponent. The Cardinals now at 2 and 2 will take on Franklin Friday afternoon while Monadnock is now 5 and 0 and will host Kearsarge Friday.
