Last Friday, the Lebanon Raiders baseball team hosted the Hanover Marauders for another highly anticipated rivalry matchup.
Both teams came into this game hungry as they were winless with Lebanon at 0-3 and Hanover 0-1. The Raiders would get off to a quick start taking a 5 to zero lead by the second inning.
But this lead wouldn’t hold up as Hanover was able to tie the game in the top of the third. By the sixth inning the score was all tied up at 8 a piece. Hanover came up to bat and was able to score twice on a two-run single from David Lehmann after sloppy defense plagued the Raiders.
Lebanon came up to bat in the bottom of the sixth and seventh but was not able to cut into Hanover’s lead. A score of Hanover 10, Lebanon 8 would be the final result. Hanover coach John Grainger and starting Hanover pitcher Avery Monahan told YCN their thoughts after the game.
Hanover now sits at 2 and 1 after a win over Pembroke on Saturday. They will now look forward to take on John Stark tomorrow. Lebanon remains winless at 0 and 4 and will face Pembroke this afternoon.
