Cougars Girls Tennis Nabs First Win of the Season

Last Friday the Kearsarge Girls tennis team hosted Stevens High School for the Cougars’ second match of the year.

Coming off a loss two days earlier to Sanborn, the Cougars were ready to put up a “W” in their win column in what was just the second matchup of their young season. Kearsarge was able to secure wins from Andrea Cutts at #3 singles, Morgane Flinkstrom at #4 singles and Miranda Bonin at #5 singles. Flinkstrom and Bonin were then able to work together to pull out a win at the #1 ranked doubles position.

After Sanborn won the #2 ranked doubles, the match would come down to the final #3 ranked doubles as Kearsarge and Stevens were tied overall at 4 a piece.

Ellie Mellott and Morgan Carafa from Kearsarge would fight hard to pull out a victory for the final match of the day by a score of 8 to 4 which resulted in the Cougars winning their first match of the year.

Kearsarge is now 1 and 1 on their young season while Stevens is still looking for their first win.
