Wednesday night’s matchup featuring Lebanon and Manchester West was exciting even though Lebanon immediately took an 11 to zero lead. At no point during the rest of the game did Manchester West hold a lead. In-fact, after the first quarter they never got closer than nine points.
The Raiders got off to their quick start by hitting multiple three point shots in the first quarter. By halftime the Raiders were five for seven from three point range while the Blue Knights were just one for four from beyond the arc.
The score after two quarters, 23 to 11. During the second half Lebanon changed their three point shooting strategy and attacked the basket even though the Blue Knights have two monster forwards (6-foot-6 and 6-foot-5) patrolling the paint. Neither team ended up shooting very well when it was all said and done.
The Raiders shot 35% from the field while the Blue Knights shot 30%. The final score would end up being Lebanon 50 and Manchester West 31. Lebanon had previously made it to three straight division two semi-final games and had lost all three times so congratulations to Coach Matte and the Raiders.
We wish the team good luck on Saturday when they take on the #1 ranked Portsmouth Clippers in a showdown to see who can remain undefeated and be crowned champion.
