Following up on a story we brought you last Friday where a bomb threat was called in against the Department of Children and Families at the Windsor District Courthouse in White River Junction. Hartford Police released a press release Friday evening explaining that while they were investigating the threat of a bombs at the courthouse, several packages were discovered to have been delivered across town by US mail.
One such package arrived at the courthouse around 10:00 AM where authorities were investigating.
The packages were also reported at the Hartford Municipal Building, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Hartford High School, and St. Anthony’s Church. The Vermont State Police bomb squad responded and investigated the packages, only to find packing paper and cardboard.
However, police say that these mysterious packages and the bomb threat did not appear to be linked.
After an evacuation, the situation was deemed clear Friday around noon and employees returned to work.
