New London Gathers to Celebrate Veterans Day

In New London, area residents gathered at the First Baptist Church to celebrate Veterans Day. George West, Commander of American Legion Post 40 in New London, was the Master of Ceremonies for the morning event.

The Kearsarge Community Band provided patriotic music and elementary students from the Kearsarge District under the direction of music teacher Nicole Densmore sang many patriotic songs.

Speaker of the Day Bill Tighe spoke to the audience about the history of Veterans Day and thanked all veterans past, present, and future. The ceremony ended with everyone joining in singing “America the Beautiful”.
