Water Main Break in Lebanon Causes Road Delays
A water-main break in Lebanon Wednesday morning caused major headaches for commuters who travel Miracle Mile Road between the I-89 on ramp and the Mascoma River.
According to the Lebanon Public Works Office, the stretch of road was closed to all traffic shortly after 5:30 Wednesday morning when a water-main break left abundant water covering the roadway. By 9 o’clock, officials had cleared one lane to allow alternating lines of traffic past the scene, and said they’d have both lanes back open as of broadcast time.
Officials say the leak was caused by a major crack in one of the sections of the piping as a result of fatiguing infrastructure.
