This past weekend the folks in Warner were introduced to 21st century communications as TDS Telecom showcased their new fiber to the home service. People were amazed at the contrast, moving from an old 50 channel analog standard definition cable to their new TDS TV digital service which includes High Definition and up to 260 channels with internet going from a maximum of a 15 meg DSL in the old system to one that provides a minimum of 100 megs up to 1 Gigs of speed and all toped off by a less expensive telephone service got people excited. We asked a potential customer for his thoughts.
Ed Mical noted that TDS is providing over twice the battery backup time as required by the Public Utilities Commission and that the citizens need to contact the PUC and request that they consider establishing a longer back up time.
TDS has already activated this system in New London, Wilmot, Andover and several southern NH Communities but a TDS representative told YCN News when the service will become available in Warner and other towns.
