Newbury Man Fire Weapon in Road Rage Incident
A Newbury man has been arrested after a road rage incident that took place on October 23rd. Nathaniel Hargreaves, 18, turned himself into Newport Police on Saturday and was charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
Last week around 6:15PM, a driver reported a road rage incident involving a subject shooting rounds from a moving vehicle in the direction of the callers car. According to police, this incident stemmed from another incident that happened two night prior, but it was not reported. Police were not able to locate the vehicle and instead asked area departments to be on the lookout for the suspect’s vehicle. Bradford Police department was able to identify who owned the vehicle and determine he lived in Newbury.
Newport Police were granted a search warrant of Hargreaves home and vehicle and found evidence related to the crime including a Weatherby 12 gauge shotgun. Hargreaves then turned himself in, but was able to post $10,000 cash bail. He will be arraigned in Newport 5th district division court on Tuesday November 8th.
