Missing Weathersfield Girl Found Safe

Tonight we bring you an update on the case of the missing 17-year-old Weathersfield, Vermont girl…Autumn Sanville, not seen or heard from since October 6th. Sunday afternoon the ‘Help Find Autumn Sanville’ Facebook page was updated saying she had been found safe. She was found in Royalton, Vermont Sunday afternoon at the home of her boyfriend – 22-year-old Shadoe Benson.

Benson’s dad came home unexpectedly to find Sanville standing in his kitchen and urged his son to contact State Police. Benson had been questioned by police numerous times during this investigation and he denied knowing the whereabouts of Sanville. Sanville told investigators she spent the last three weeks by herself willingly, in the woods camping and eating only bread, jelly, goldfish crackers, and water from the river. Police said despite her claims she was clean and dry and her sleeping bag showed no signs of wear or use. Sanville has returned home to her parents and her mother, Karlene Rogstad said in a statement, “Autumn is happy to be home with her family, is warm, and safe. We want to thank everyone for all their support, prayers, and thoughts.”

The Vermont State Police is continuing a criminal investigation and asking for the public’s help – please contact them if you have any information about where Sanville has been.
