Claremont School Board Seeks New Member
Former Claremont School Board Member Rebecca Ferland said she will not challenge her resignation from the board therefore the school board is now looking for a new member.
On October 4th Ferland sent an email with her resignation letter to the SAU 6 board, where she is also a board member, wishing to step down as chair from that board, but remain on the Claremont School Board. Her reasoning stated she felt bullied by other board members at a public meeting after the chair and vice chair said they were upset by Ferland’s social media criticism of the superintendent. But Ferland will not fight to keep her seat on the board and instead procedures are already in place to fill her spot with 4 other possible candidates already showing interest.
The chosen candidate will be sworn in at the November 2nd school board meeting and serve until the elections in March.
