3rd Annual Chad Denning Walk to School Day

Today was the 3rd annual Chad Denning Walk to School Day for the Kearsarge Elementary School in New London. Students met at Colby Sawyer either dropped off by parents or by the bus, and then in a big group walked down Gould Street to the elementary school with the help of parent volunteers, teachers, and the local police and fire departments.

The annual event was started 3 years ago after New London Recreation Director Chad Denning died suddenly on September 7th, 2016 at the age of 39. He was a big proponent of getting sidewalks installed so that students could walk to school.  Current Rec Director Scott Blewitt said The sun shined bright in memory of Chad denning during the 3rd annual walk to school day in his honor.

Chad was instrumental in adding sidewalks on pleasant street to promote health and wellness to the community. We look forward to this event for years to come.
