Truck Crash Along I-89 Halts Traffic

The southbound side of I-89 in Grantham was closed Tuesday morning for about 2 hours after a commercial truck crashed into the guard rails.

New Hampshire State Police said a white Hino flatbed truck transporting lumber and scaffoldings crashed into a guardrail right near exit 13 around 11AM. Due to the debris in the road the highway had to be shut down. The driver of the truck was Eric Dechellis, 28, of Manchester, New Hampshire and was the only person involved in the accident. He is an employee of New England Scaffolding Services from Bow, which is also who owned the truck.

The report says he was driving from Burlington, Vermont to Bow, New Hampshire when he fell asleep at the wheel causing the crash. He was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
