On Friday, the Sunapee Police and Fire Departments responded to a scene of a fire that had occurred within a tractor trailer that was carrying a flammable material: woodchips. Around 2:15 PM on Friday, the Sunapee police and fire departments responded to the tractor trailer fire on Route 11 near Winn Hill Road in Sunapee. Upon arrival, the firemen found that the trailer had been carrying woodchips, which had caught fire.

The cab was disconnected from the trailer and the firemen had to cut holes in the trailer so they could get some water on the smoldering wood chips. During the fire, a section of Route 11 was closed to traffic and all cars and trucks were detoured onto Lower Main Street in Sunapee.

Route 11 was reopened after 3 PM once the fire had been extinguished and the scene was cleared.
