Four men from New York were arrested on Tuesday for a credit card skimming and re-encoding scam that began in New York and moved to Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
Windsor Police say that 27-year old Carl White, 26-year old Jacob Houedjissi, and 21-year old Kyle Philip of Jamaica, New York and 22-year old Shaquille Francis of Springfield Gardens, New York were all charged with Possession or use of Credit Card Skimming Devices and Re-Encoders as well as Identity Theft and Accessory Aiding Commission of Felony.
Their operation was detected in New Hampshire and they were reported to be driving a BMW with New York plates.
They tried to make fraudulent purchases at Windsor businesses and police pulled them over when they were spotted on Main Street in their car.
Police found their credit card re-encoder machine as well as several fraudulent credit cards. The FBI is assisting in the investigation and all four were arraigned Wednesday, now being held on $25,000 cash bail.
