Area Orchards Announce Early Picking, Putney Orchard Prepping

Like it or not, Fall is just around the corner but that does mean so is the beginning of apple picking season. Now I know I’m preaching to the choir when I say that our region plays host to amazing fresh produce and natural products. Many local orchards announced this past weekend that early season apples were ready for picking. Alysons Orchard in Walpole opened this past weekend with picking of two varieties: Paula Reds and Ginger Golds. In nearby Putney Vermont, YCN news stopped by Green Mountain Orchards to take a closer look at their working orchard and to get ready for this great time of year that brings in tourists from all over.
