It was an intense scene for Bellows Falls and Walpole police officers on Friday as they chased a motorist who had an infant in his car and a suspended license. Bellows Falls Police, in a press release, say that Keith Tyrrell Jr. was apprehended Friday when he crashed his car following a chase that began when he failed to pull over at a traffic stop.
Officers had attempted to pull Tyrrell over for a routine traffic stop on Rockingham Street, but failed to stop and drove in what was described as a “negligent manner” into North Walpole across the New Arch Bridge. Walpole Police took up the chase in New Hampshire and he crashed on Route 12.
Police found both Tyrrell and an uninjured infant in the car and transported Tyrrell to a Vermont hospital where he was arrested for careless and negligent operation and violation of conditions of release for a curfew he was under.
He also received charges of cruelty to a child under the age of 16, resisting arrest, and attempted assault on a law enforcement officer by bodily fluids. He was held on $750 bail at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
