In Brattleboro, Vermont a community is mourning the loss of two residents who were killed in a mobile home fire Tuesday night. The Brattleboro Fire Department say that they responded to 3 Record Drive just before midnight Tuesday night and found a mobile home engulfed in flames.
The fire was deemed under control around 1:15 AM after about an hour and a half of battling the flames. Crews were finally able to enter the structure and discovered the two deceased bodies.
The Brattleboro FD told The Brattleboro Reformer that they believe the two deceased occupants had died before they arrived on the scene. Additionally one dog died as a result of the fire and two cats are unaccounted for at this time.
The mobile home was deemed a total loss and the fire is under investigation as authorities have only identified that it started in a bedroom but do not know the exact cause yet.
Two occupants were able to escape the burning residence and are now under the care of the Red Cross Disaster Action Team.
