In Claremont, the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment has agreed to continue looking at two developments in town: the possible reopening of BJ Bricker’s and the Claremont Speedway’s RV campground.
The Eagle Times explains that the closed steak and seafood restaurant on Washington Street is hoping to reopen, but not before they acquire a variance that would reduce the number of required parking spaces. To approve a variance for the parking, the board will need to see a professional engineer’s design.
Regarding the Claremont Speedway, the board heard a two hour presentation this week about the proposed RV campground on Thrasher Road and has unanimously decided to continue to hearing. The 149 spot campsite has received both support and criticism, most notably from land abutters, and the Zoning Board visited the site last week.
The board will discuss BJ Brickers’ parking situation in early September and will continue to campground discussion during the same meeting.
