Springfield Police have nabbed a fugitive who was on the run from Maine, being sought there for a Class B Felony.
Springfield Police say that Sergeant Jeremy Fitzgibbons found 45-year old Melissa Hatch at around 4:15 PM on Friday and arrested her for being a fugitive from justice in Maine. She had been living in Woodstock and was taken to the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. She was arraigned on Monday.
The Eagle Times says that a judge in York County Superior Court in Alfred, Maine issued a warrant for her arrest Wednesday after she had been handed charges of fraud/negotiating a worthless instrument. In court cases such as this one, the fugitive can contest an extradition and enter a court hearing in the state they were apprehended in.
