It was a scary scene in Newport, New Hampshire, over the weekend as a car hit two motorcycles, both of which were carrying two passengers. Newport Police say that the motorcycles were hit by a car on John Stark Highway on Sunday after the vehicle had crossed over the center line, causing serious injuries to the motorcycles’ riders.
At 3:30 PM, Newport police received multiple calls regarding a car that had hit two motorcycles just west of Unity Road. Routes 11 and 103 were closed for roughly two hours as crews responded to and addressed the scene of the accident.
Police say that the car, a 2004 Kia, was driven by 26-year old Brittany Tubman of Allenstown, New Hampshire. She was traveling west when she crossed the center line and hit the two motorcycles who were traveling east. One motorcycle was driven by 47-year old John Browne with passenger 47-year old Christina Browne of Pembroke.
The other was driven by 47-year old David Goupil with passenger 43-year old Susanne Fournier, of Manchester and Bow respectively. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
